After School Clubs & Activities

Learning doesn't end when the school day ends. Our school offers different types of after school clubs and activities to keep our students active. Information to sign-up for these programs will be announced as they begin.

After-School Tutoring

In our after-care program, students are offered tutoring in our homework room. Staff members are available for tutoring services. Students from Bishop Connolly High School are also available throughout the year to tutor students. After-school care fees do apply when used.

Catholic Youth Futsal League

This is an 11-week program designed for boys and girls ages pre-K (Ages 3-4)  to 14 yrs old. Team brackets are created based on age groups and ability. Practices take place at the school, and games are on Saturday at Durfee High School. The season begins in November. The teams are coached by parents of the school. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Mr. Raposo for information.

Catholic Youth League (CYO)

The CYO basketball league is comprised of multiple co-ed teams from the Fall River parishes and Catholic schools. Practices begin in October, and the season runs from November through March. As well as a regular season, athletes play in a playoff series and All-Star games. Games are played through the week at the CYO building on Anawan Street in Fall River. Coaches for Boys & Girls teams are Mr. Raposo, and Ms. Katelyn.

School Choir

Under the direction of Ms. Christine Mello, and Ms. Deborah Polselli, the school choir meets on Tuesday afternoons in Room 1. Students are responsible for providing music liturgy throughout the year. Choir members also perform community service, providing some cheer at local nursing homes, participating in parish concerts, and other opportunities. Students interested in participating should see Ms. Mello or Ms. Polselli.

Community Service

For Grades 6-8, students participate in the Christian Community Service project. Through this program, students seek to follow in the footsteps of Christ and offer their assistance where it is needed. Grade 6 performs in-school community service, while Grade 7 &8 offer in-school and out of school community service. Many opportunities are available; for more information, please see Mr. Raposo.

Student Government

In Grades 4-8, and in connection to the Social Studies curriculum, student government is offered. Students participate in a campaign to be elected, and then work with faculty advisors to help move the school forward. Also, student government travels to the state house in Boston, to learn the functionality of government. For more information, please speak to Mr. Raposo.

Yearbook

In Grade 8, students will work throughout the year, in the construction, writing, design and photography of the yearbook. Using the state of the art computer lab, students will produce a quality yearbook for the community to enjoy. For more information, please speak to Ms. Katelyn.

Mad Science

Offered by Mad Science of Southern MA & RI, students participate in an expanded, imaginative learning experience after school. Different units are taught throughout the program. Registration is required, and information will be available when the program is ready to begin.
